Further Strike Action

Tuesday 7th March 2023

Dear Parent / Carer,

You will be aware that the National Education Union (NEU) have called two days of industrial action on Wednesday 15th March and Thursday 16th March

A number of our employees are members of the NEU and as such we are likely to be affected by the industrial action. The governing body, with myself, has therefore undertaken a risk assessment for the school to assess safeguarding and the children’s safety in the absence of key staff members.  Consequently, on the strike day, a partial closure will occur with only some classes closed.

The closed classes are:

  • Nursery
  • Reception
  • Year 1
  • Year 5

(There are learning activities available on the school website for the Reception, Year 1 and Year 5 classes.)

All other classes will be open and children in these classes will be expected to attend school as normal.  The open classes are:

  • Year 2
  • Year 3
  • Year 4
  • Year 6

Please note changes to the above may occur between now and up to morning of the strike action and I will advise you accordingly in the event of this.

Lunches will be available for collection from school between 11 a.m. and noon on each of the strike days for children who are entitled to free school meals and whose classes are closed.

If you have any queries or require further information please do not hesitate to contact the school.
