Religious Education Intent

At Castle Hill School we follow the Bolton Agreed Syllabus 2020 to assert the importance and values of religious education for all children. We strive to ensure children are given opportunities to explore what people believe and what difference this makes to how they live, so that children can gain the knowledge, understanding and skills to develop ideas, values and identities. We equip children with the skills to articulate clearly and coherently so their personal beliefs, ideas, values and experiences are appreciated while respecting the right of others so they can participate positively in our society, with its diverse religious beliefs.

As a parent, you have the right to opt your child out of RE lessons.  However, at Castle Hill, we are a culturally rich and diverse community who share lots of different beliefs and RE is a great way to share and appreciate all of our differences, building tolerance of, and respect for, everyone.  This means we can all belong, believe, achieve and grow together at Castle Hill Primary School.
